Lake Nakuru

A compact Rift Valley park built around a soda lake, reliable rhino and, in season, flamingos by the thousand.

Sights

Info

Lake Nakuru packs a lot into a small area: both black and white rhino graze the shoreline, the acacia woodland behind the lake holds leopard and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, and the Baboon Cliff viewpoint gives a wide-angle view over the whole park in one stop. It is one of the easiest half-day additions to any Kenya itinerary.
